HOME OF THE TRUE-TO-TYPE WORKING STOCK ALAPAHA BLUE-BLOOD BULLDOG

Home

Here at Whyte Kennel my wife and I have been breeding Alapahas for well over a decade. Our dogs are fully registered by the International Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog Registry (IABBR). The IABBR is a sole breed registry dedicated to preservation and genealogical documentation of the Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog and is the most  popular registry in the world for our breed.

We pride ourselves on the condition of our bulldogs, Our Alapahas are raised on a farm with rivers, woods and open fields. Although we have a kennel system we dedicate our home to accommodate the socialization and imprinting of our dogs and puppies. A well bred Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog, is great with young children, but aloof with strange adults. The Alapaha should not be perceived as “dog aggressive” but rather “dog dominant” they should not start fights with other dogs. Like any good dog should, the Alapaha is very loyal and will protect his master and family with his life.
This bulldog unlike its “counterparts” is NOT a creation or re-creation and is still highly capable of fulfilling the duties it was bred to do! The Alapaha standard shows us a dog that is not over exaggerated, he is a dog that is bred from a cross of Cur and working stock English Bulldog, and should be thick boned and suggest a lot of power from their formidable body and head type. These bulldogs are working dogs par excellence, even the 100lb males are still agile and can easily jump up into the back of  a pick up truck.  A well bred Alapaha should not look like a  long legged Stafford or exaggerated  Olde English Bulldogge. The Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog was and still is an ‘ALL ROUND’ farm utility bulldog bred to catch and hold unruly bull. Although there is little use for this today the Alapaha is highly capable of performing in canine disciplines and competitive sports. .
The Alapaha Bullldog is the closest your going to get the original working stock English Bulldog
